What Do You Do After Spending The Entire Day Feeding Your Face With Rich Food?

Many of us ate and ate all day the rich foods that would kill us if we ate them all the time. What is the best way to recover from our gluttony?

not sure — took the dog for a couple of long walks — just cleaning up — going wrap up the christmas cookies and give them to my sister to take to work at the post office — let somebody else have the calories — will try to eat a little lighter for the next week …

If you only do that once a year (or twice ;-) ) it’s ok. Don’t purge or anything – that’s not good for you in any way. If you don’t feel well after eating rich food, then eat a piece of bread or a few crackers.

    Find exercise that you enjoy.
I occasionally struggle with weight…I’m a 5′11″ male with weight fluctuations between 195lbs and 210lbs.
If I make a committment to go to a gym, I know its short lived. I HATE repetitious exercise. I much prefer to play hockey. I don’t (necessarily) need a league or organization, I enjoy banging a puck around in practice to burn calories. Sometimes go with friends.
Whatever your sport, find one that suits your interests. Chasing a ball (puck) hardly feels like exercise. You are more likely to stick with it if its something you enjoy.
If you don’t like team sports, try downhill/cross-country skiing? Surfing? (Depending on geographic location).

Take a deep breath and suck in your stomach. Take off your pants and put your pajamas on. Flop on the couch. Grab the remote. Finish off a 24 Hours of A Christmas Story on TBS. And when thats over, go to bed.
It’s Christmas. One day of gluttony is allowed.
Tomorrow, hit the treadmill or do some pushups. It’s okay.

I’d not feel guilty, and decide when to start my diet.

Tomorrow is a new day! Forgive yourself for today and eat right tomorrow.
Unless there is still some of Granny’s delicious fudge left, in which case December 27 will be a new day, too.

Eat one more thing…. Chinese hot and sour soup. It will clean out stuff from last year’s gluttony too…. ha ha

Eat a heavy thick bran muffin..Works for me.. I don’t want it all sticking with me until new years.

When I did do stupid things like that, I would take a prilosec, go for a walk, and give myself hell for being stupid.
Best way to recover? Get back into a healthy routine.
I had a nice, healthy salad with low fat dressing for dinner tonite. Why? Because I actually care about myself and want to live a long time. (I’m diabetic and don’t want to take shots)

well, the first thing is to not worry about it. it’s christmas, and there aren’t many times throughout the year when you can really indulge!! Just forget about it today, and maybe tomorrow go for a little jog or do a bit of exercise..just don’t worry about it…one day won’t kill you! just eat sensibly throughout the rest of the holidays and relax!
