I have a loved one in advanced stages of dementia who is unable to feed herself or swallow well. My family has been talking about the possibility of a feeding tube. On one hand, we don’t want her to suffer the pain of starvation. On the other, it would be hard to watch her just laying there in bed with no quality of life, utter boredom, and continued pain that she may or may not be able to express. Is there any additional information out there that would help us come to a decision?

Obviously, every person in ahome should be able to dial the Emergency Number with clear instructions and a First Aid kit in homes is always a good idea, but what natural household products can be used for First Aid?
I know pepper can be used for cuts, aloe for burns (after it’s been under running cold water for at least 10 minutes) but are there more?

I have an infrared camera installed in my 9 mo old daughter’s room so we can check on her in her crib during naps & at night. I’ve never heard of them posing a risk, but I’ll throw that question out there & hope someone who ‘knows’ can share their two cents. Can an IR camera damage the human eye if it’s on in dark conditions and they unknowingly look at the emitted lights?
