Omron HEM 629 Auto Inflate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

The MP5 is used by hospitals, care homes and families worldwide for the detection of convulsive seizures and when used in accordance with the instructions for use will provide a fast response to on-going seizures of the Tonic-Clonic (Grand Mal) type.

The positions of the dials shown in the photograph represent an average setting for the detection of most convulsive seizures. Sensitivity of the bed sensor(s) can be increased to allow for thicker bed mattresses or milder convulsive seizures. Movement delay can be increased for people that move around more than normal during sleep to reduce false alarms.

The MP5 is best suited to monitor one service user with epilepsy, it is possible to use more than one movement monitor with one or two alarm pagers.

Based on use in a single sized bed the minimum recommended age for this model is five years or 56 lb minimum weight. The MP5 is supplied with two pagers (one reserved as a standby) that produce vibration with tone sound. When the bed movement monitor detects a seizure the built in transmitter sends a signal to the pagers up to a distance of 100M.

To take an accurate reading, first place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards.

Next, position the unit, leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm.

When your wrist reaches the proper position in line with your heart, the monitor beeps and automatically starts.

Instructions for Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Stress raises blood pressure, so avoid taking measurements during stressful times. Also, measurements should be taken in a quiet place. You should be in a relaxed, seated position with your feet flat on the floor. Before you take your measurement, rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes. Place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards. Position the unit leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm. Pull the cuff upward while holding the edge of the wrist cuff and wrap snugly. Make sure to lightly press the Velcro closure with your fingers so that it is fastened tightly.

Using your elbow as an axis point, slowly raise your left hand at an angle towards your right shoulder. Stop your movement when the heart mark is aligned with the arrow symbol. When your wrist reaches the proper position, the monitor beeps and automatically starts inflation and measurement. Hold your wrist at this position. Do not make any movements until the measurement results are displayed. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.

What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use — you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate. To take an accurate reading, first place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards.

Next, position the unit, leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm.

When your wrist reaches the proper position in line with your heart, the monitor beeps and automatically starts.

Instructions for Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Stress raises blood pressure, so avoid taking measurements during stressful times. Also, measurements should be taken in a quiet place. You should be in a relaxed, seated position with your feet flat on the floor. Before you take your measurement, rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes. Place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards. Position the unit leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm. Pull the cuff upward while holding the edge of the wrist cuff and wrap snugly. Make sure to lightly press the Velcro closure with your fingers so that it is fastened tightly.

Using your elbow as an axis point, slowly raise your left hand at an angle towards your right shoulder. Stop your movement when the heart mark is aligned with the arrow symbol. When your wrist reaches the proper position, the monitor beeps and automatically starts inflation and measurement. Hold your wrist at this position. Do not make any movements until the measurement results are displayed. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.

What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use — you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate. The biggest advantage of using the IntelliSense technology is a personalized inflation, every time, for maximum comfort.

Omron has established itself as a leader in blood pressure monitoring inside the home as well as in hospital settings. Now, Omron has applied its traditional expertise in sensor technology to take the next step in CVD monitoring in the homecare context, by creating a new home monitoring device. Symptoms such as heart pain, palpitations and shortness of breath may be signs of heart disease and may be transient. In some cases, delay in detection may lead to the worsening of heart conditions (an increasingly repetitive pattern of transient abnormalities) and may prevent a patient or doctor from seeking corrective treatments before a potential heart attack or stroke. However, there are some challenges to keeping records of these symptoms in real time by conventional approaches.
