Is American Football Not Just Rugby For Pu$$ys??

They wear helmets and a strange “hulk” like body armour of sorts amongst other items of protective gear…. were as the rest of the world plays rugby in shorts and t-shirts and essentially the rules of the two games are the same.
What do you think?

Wrong. Rugby is American Football for Pu$$sies. Institute a forward pass in rugby and see how many poeple survive. My guess is nobody. 75% of the hits in the NFL are illegal in rugby because they would cause severe injury for anybody playing without pads. Not once in the history of rugby ha s someone been completly blindsided or had a head on collision at full speed. Rugby players think they’re the **** for not wearing pads but they don’t play a game that has the same contact level as the NFL. The truth hurts, rugby isn’t a game for wimps, but the difference in the rules ruquires the use of pads in American Football. People would die without them. Hell, there have been two people that have almost died this year in the NFL with the pads. One of them will be lucky if he ever walks again.

Yeah, we’ve heard it all before. Funny thing is, I don’t see any former Rugby players making millions in the NFL, since it’s so easy and all. I’m sure Rugby doesn’t pay that much. So if it was that easy, wouldn’t they all be over here with $100 million contracts.

The rules of Rugby and American football are not the same. When in Rugby is a forward pass legal for starters…

I think maybe you should just stick with what you know, and leave everyone else alone. If you think rugby is better, then be a fan of Rugby. American Football is at least as important to those fans (me) as yours are to you. I do not care what you think of it.

Wow…..I think you have changed the way I look at the world. Thank you for enlightening my feeble American mind. If you think that the rules of American Football and Rugby are essentially the same, you need to step away from the meth pipe.
    Go sit on your thumb!

You slam Americans by calling them pusssies and then slam them for not taking a joke?
My guess is youre a kid playing on his folks computer while theyre at the grocery store.

You really must not know too much about Football if you think the rules are the same. It’s kind of like comparing Baseball to Cricket. Do they take a high-tea break in Rugby too? Does the average Rugby player weigh over 290lbs. like in the NFL? The hitting in Football is far more viscious than Rugby. Sounds to me like your envious that London and Liverpool don’t have teams in the NFL…by the way, what REALLY happens in the “scrum”?

Ok look I have played organized Rugby and Football and they are two different sports. You might as well compare Baseball and Cricket or hockey and golf, you can’t. I would like to see you call Ditcka a pu$$y, He taught Chuck Norris every thing he knows. He’d round house kick your face through time kill Jesus and back.

Its not that we cant take a joke, its that two to three times a week some dumba$$ asks the same question. The pads are not for protection they are for hitting(see the video). If you knew anything about Football you wouldn’t ask a stupid question.
The rules are not the same, you have no forward pass, which means you have no QB standing in the pocket having to look down field while 300 pounders try to kill you. You also don’t have WR’s that have to concentrate on the ball instead of the guys who’s job it is to separate the ball from the player. We also don’t practice throwing the ball backwards to someone else before we get hit.

i have watched rugby and, yous wear some type of gay quilted helmets, and plus your game is too damned boring.
so go back to your queer rugby category… must not be too much activity over there, which is why yous must be over here in the MEN’S category trying to stir up some ****

  • wrecker

It is two completely different sports, In American football
they come at you as hard as they can, There are at least
3 men that are paralyzed that I can think of
playing American Foot ball one is Darrell Stingily of the pats
back in the 70’s just this year one of the Buffalo Bills players
got hurt will he ever walk again I don’t know and a New York
Jet same thing back in the late 80’s or early 90’s. How many
men had that happen to them in Rugby And if you want
to talk about concussions that List is to long for me

I live in England, and have the utmost respect for the NFL, and ALL the players in the teams. I watch as much as I can, support the CHIEFS!!!!, and love the tactical scraps that they have.
The hits are FAR harder than ANY game of rugby, and whilst you can’t take anything away from pro rugby players, its nothing compared to some of the excellent defensive players inj the NFL.
You need to understand what’s going on – sit down, watch and learn!
    go chiefs!

  • stoatsng

When a 300 plus lineman land on you a rips your acl out……you wont be talking smack then.
When American Fooball was invented players were getting killed….So the NCAA was formed and started requiring players use protective equipment.
Dont you stupid brits get tired of talking smack about the US.

okay get a rugby player to put on the pads though and go up against ray lewis, or try and tackle a hard hitting running back, the rugby player will get owned

  • o a

yea your right…lets line up a rugby player and a nfl player about 5 yards apart and let them go head on, our player in pads and yours without and lets see who survives, im guessing the good old usa player is going to walk away laughing and your guy is going to need a stretcher
