Without making it into major mockery of the sport, why is it that American Football is regarded as a silly game by football fans internationally (beyond the obvious element that real football (aka soccer) is steeply trenched in years of history and elegant to watch)?
Perhaps American football is, indeed, a derivative of rugby and the rules of the sport are so complex that attempting to understand it on even a rudimentary basis is about as enjoyable as watching paint dry. But in fairness, once one is familiar with the exceptionally complex rules, isn’t it reasonable that there is ultimately such elegance in the nuances of the game that form the basis for it being such an important part of American culture (genuinely, as opposed to suggesting that Americans, many of whom are immigrants from other parts of the sphere, are silly)?
With respect to the necessity to wear what’s regarded as excessive protective equipment, it’s purely a function of the brutal nature of the game when played at a high level, i.e. the sheer forces of a collision with 150 kg athletes who collide at absurd velocities (attempting to impale others) exceeds anything one might encounter in rugby (My uncle was a professional Rugby player in Europe and his son is an American football player). Studies reveal that even with the best protection, the number of injuries resulting in acute intracranial haemorrhage would make the game impossible to play without suitable protective equipment.
Is it a matter that the levels of excessive levels of complexity of the game make it so unpalatable to the rest of the world or is there something more profound that make it the object of ridicule in the rest of the world?
International football (soccer) is elegant and brilliant but in fairness, isn’t possible that American Football merits a modicum of respect (even from those entirely disinterested in it)?

i play varsity football as a starting MLB, as a freshmen. ive had 2 concussions this year. and i was wondering wat helmet is the best for bug hitters. money isnt really an obsticle for me. i got my concussions with a standard so im looking to buy a more protective helmet

They wear helmets and a strange “hulk” like body armour of sorts amongst other items of protective gear…. were as the rest of the world plays rugby in shorts and t-shirts and essentially the rules of the two games are the same.

hi um… I am playing football at a new school and at my old one it didn’t required that we wore cups but it is at my new school. so i was wondering if you could help me out..
What kind should i get?
What size? I am a pretty big guy i guess about 4-5 inches regular and
a okay size package ( never measured or know how 2)… Btw im 15
Does my Football gurdle hold a cup or do i Ned a Jockstrap?
Is it best 2 pear something under a cup or should i completely dress down if front of my whole team? ( don’t feel like Flashing off my Balls)
Whats the normal price i will probably pay for this? (wanna go cheap since im probably paying myself)
And should i want the more expensive and reliable cups since they’re holding my junk?

I Need Help With My Final Year Project About Protective Sports Equipment…..shin Pads In Different Sports?

I am testing the biomechanical properties of shin pads and comparing them over different sports (e.g. rugby, football, cricket, a martial arts…..any more ideas??) but need information about what forces spin pads normally endure during sports (i.e. if a cricket ball hits a shin pad, if a football hits a shin pad in football, how much force does the shin pad endure?) but I have no idea where to get this kind of information from. Journals and books would be the best but any source would be good for the time being.
