The principle of operation is simple and reliable. Detected seizures are notified via a radio signal to a pager with a range of up to 100 Metres.

The MP5 is used by hospitals, care homes and families worldwide for the detection of convulsive seizures and when used in accordance with the instructions for use will provide a fast response to on-going seizures of the Tonic-Clonic (Grand Mal) type.

The positions of the dials shown in the photograph represent an average setting for the detection of most convulsive seizures. Sensitivity of the bed sensor(s) can be increased to allow for thicker bed mattresses or milder convulsive seizures. Movement delay can be increased for people that move around more than normal during sleep to reduce false alarms.

The MP5 is best suited to monitor one service user with epilepsy, it is possible to use more than one movement monitor with one or two alarm pagers.

Based on use in a single sized bed the minimum recommended age for this model is five years or 56 lb minimum weight. Turns out, your heartbeat is a pretty big deal. It’s actually one of the most important indicators of overall wellness, and is one of the most effective elements of any fitness program. Your heart rate not only controls your body but also the efficiency of your exercise. To get the most out of your physical activity–whether it’s walking, dancing or aerobics–you need to make sure you are in your target heart rate zone. To determine your target heart rate, first subtract your age from 220. That’s your maximum heart rate. Your target heart rate is roughly 50 to 75 percent of this maximum heart rate. To see how your fitness level is progressing over time, measure and track your resting heart rate–usually between 60 and 100 beats per minute–on a weekly basis. As you become more fit, your resting heart rate will decrease.

Your target heart rate generally encompasses three zones. Exercising in the Active Zone (50 to 60 percent of maximum heart rate) reduces blood pressure and cholesterol and is ideal for fitness beginners or those on a low-intensity program. To take an accurate reading, first place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards.

Next, position the unit, leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm.

When your wrist reaches the proper position in line with your heart, the monitor beeps and automatically starts.

Instructions for Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Stress raises blood pressure, so avoid taking measurements during stressful times. Also, measurements should be taken in a quiet place. You should be in a relaxed, seated position with your feet flat on the floor. Before you take your measurement, rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes. Place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upwards. Position the unit leaving approximately 0.5-inches of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm. Pull the cuff upward while holding the edge of the wrist cuff and wrap snugly. Make sure to lightly press the Velcro closure with your fingers so that it is fastened tightly.

Using your elbow as an axis point, slowly raise your left hand at an angle towards your right shoulder. Stop your movement when the heart mark is aligned with the arrow symbol. When your wrist reaches the proper position, the monitor beeps and automatically starts inflation and measurement. Hold your wrist at this position. Do not make any movements until the measurement results are displayed. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.

What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use — you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate.
